Part 2 of two 2 parts:
"The End" is predicted
some time in our future:
Predictions have been made of
several future events that some Christians believe are related: the second coming of
Jesus, the war of Armageddon, the arrival on earth of the Antichrist, the
Tribulation, the Rapture, some horrendous
natural disaster, etc. Predictions have
also been offered by other believers: Jewish, Islamic, psychic and occult . 1
In this section of our web site, we
have listed over 7 dozen past predictions
of TEOTWAWKI (the end of the world as we know it) which were supposed to have happened in our past. They all have one factor in
common: none ever came true. There is every likelihood that most (perhaps all)
of the future predictions will not materialize either.
Listed below are a few dozen additional predictions for some remarkable events in the 2010's or beyond.
We offer no guarantees that the
prophets listed below actually made these predictions. We have described their
alleged predictions as they were reported on the Web, in newspapers, books, etc.
We do not have the resources to track down original source material.
Predictions of TEOTWAWKI in the future, mostly at a specific time:
Predictions of TEOTWAWKI at a specific date or between a range of dates:
|1998 to 2012 Gordon-Michael Scallion predicted major catastrophic
earth events: global warming, melting polar ice caps, earthquakes, volcanoes
erupting, etc. |
||21st century: Thomas Chase predicted that when the world's population reaches 6.66 billion, the war of
Armageddon may occur. It reached this number about 2006 and reached 7.7 billion in early 2019, and is still increasing. 6,7 |
|| Sometime before 2019: Tathagata predicted in 1999 that the end of the
world as we know it will happen within the next twenty years. an imbalance in gravity will cause the disappearance of all civilizations by a 1000 meter high tsunami, as well as earthquakes, volcanoes and "crustal formations. ... Most of creatures are to be exterminated." 9|
|| Sometime between 2016 to 2044: Joseph F. Dumond has written a book titled "Remembering The Sabbatical Years of 2016: Breaking The Curses By Obedience." It deals with the Sabbatical years of 2016, which include 2016, 2023, 2030, 2037, and 2044. Apparently, there are four different types of Sabbaths. Details are skimpy but these are additional Hebrew Sabbats beyond the weekly Saturday Sabbath. Knowing when they are helps us understand where we are in the "last days." They include yearly, a 7 year Sabbatical cycle, and Jubilee years. Read reviews or order this book safely from Amazon.com online book store|
2019-FALL: Robert Breaker preached a sermon on JAN-06 in which he suggests that the Rapture might come during late 2019, some 70 years after the establishment of the nation of Israel on 1948-MAY-14. 10
A website at http://kbwealth4u.com/ is largely devoted to proving the existence of Hell, but also discusses the timing of the Rapture.
It is subtitled: "Our final year ends in the Summer of 2019!"
It says: "At the end of Summer 2019 the Age of Grace will come to an end and the tribulation will start! "
2019-AUG-4/5 is predicted as the "Calendar Corrected 'True' Pentecost.
2019-AUG-10/11 is the date when Jerusalem was supposed to have been attacked by Iran. (It didn't happen)
" We believe that Summer 2019 starts the Great Day of the Lord and that the Rapture will occur no later than Summer."
The Summer ends each year at the summer solstice. That occurs during 2019 on Monday SEP-23 in the Eastern Time Zone! If past estimates are any indication, this prediction will probably fail and a gravity-defying rapture of Christian believers will not happen at that time.
2019-SUMMER: During 2013, David Montaigne wrote a book titled: "End Times and 2019: The End of the Mayan Calendar and the Countdown to Judgment Day." He predicted that God will come to Earth on 2019-DEC-28 to hold the Final Judgement. All of humanity will be judged at that time, and routed either to Heaven or a really hot place.
Starting in 2050: The Breakthrough National Centre for Climate Restoration, an environmental think-tank in Melbourne, Australia, issued a report that refers to climate change as:
"... a near- to mid-term existential threat to human civilization." 11
They predict that if world governments continue on their present path, that:
"... human systems [will] reaching a ‘point of no return’ by mid-century, in which the prospect of a largely uninhabitable Earth leads to the breakdown of nations and the international order."
They suggest that this could only be prevented by an effort that is:
"... akin in scale to the Word War II emergency mobilization, towards attaining a worldwide industrial system that has zero emissions. Otherwise positive feedback loops will be triggered that will lead to accelerating collapse of key ecosystems, "including coral reef systems, the Amazon rain forest, and in the Arctic. ..."
"Even for 2°C of warming, more than a billion people may need to be relocated. ... In high-end scenarios, the scale of destruction is beyond our capacity to model with a high likelihood of human civilization coming to an end."
2°Celsius is equivalent to 3.6°Fahrenheit.
This future projection would not be as devastating as many other "end of the world" scenarios, because a small percentage of humans could probably survive by hunting, fishing, and farming on that small part of the Earth that would sustain human life. With no significant industrial production, the greenhouse gases would eventually dissipate, and the Earth's surface temperature would eventually return to normal.
